IPM in Specialty Crops

Extenstion topics

Our research projects provide evidence-based management practices for stakeholders. Specifically, we aim to integrate results of efficacy trials, including pheromone mating disruption and biorational insecticides, into current management programs. We also provide training on pesticide safety, implementation of new practices, and pest management recommendations. Through our extension efforts, we disseminate research-based information to growers, commodity groups, state and county extension agents, as well as industry representatives. Educational materials include webinars, workshops, field days, presentations at professional meetings, newsletters, and factsheets. The Demard Lab also engages students in extension and outreach activities to prepare the next generation to work with growers, gardeners, industry, and federal agencies.
